gave the motor a bit of a detail yesterday but only managed to get one coat of wax down before the light went.  Had to drive about 4 miles round trip to get a puncture repaired in the dry, so the question is assuming i shouldnt just whack another coat down should I qd off before the wax, or do i need a full wash?

Just a light spray with a hose and a dry and it should be ok to apply another coat

Inspect carefully before you do so though

Has the car become dirty? If not I'd QD it & use a plush cloth & then add another layer of wax. You could always wait until you next washed the car before adding another layer.

I'd just QD it then add your next layer.

thanks chaps, I had a good look over it and only looked a little dusty so out with the qd and frequent change of cloths.  The white MFs I happened to pickup from autobrite really came in useful as i could see what was coming off or not.

 

I never even thought about just getting the hose out, proper wood for trees moment.
