vRS Estate

Featured Replies

Can anyone with a vRS Estate tell me how much the aerial bends when the tailgate is opened.

I understand that there is a small plastic "item" on the spoiler to avoid the scratched paint syndrome,

so it must touch.

The question is, "how much" & "is it having an abrasive effect on the aerial"? :tipspecs:

Mine doesn't touch.

Fits in the gap in the spoiler.

Fits in the gap in the spoiler.

So the plastic "item"' date=' is not an item at all then. It's a gap

Must have been a trick of the light ,,,,,,, or I need to go to Spec Savers [i']!!!![/i]

Thanks.

Mine touches too, small abrasion to paintwork but no effect to aerial. If there is such a gadget to stop it let me know.

So if your's touches & manguish's don't, are we talking Octy 1 & 2 here?

If not, where's the gap in your spoiler gone?

Just had a butchers in your gallery, the first pic (rear view) seems to show;

A) Sunlight playing tricks ?

B) Gap ?

C) Small plastic "item" ?

What do you make of it?

  Yes we are.

Mines an Octy I (05) vRS Estate, and yes there is a gap in the spoiler to accomodate aerial when hatch is open, but the gap ain't big enough and therefore rubs against paintwork. (see piccy's)

Mine touched as well and there was a small piece of clear sticky backed plastic in the groove to stop it scratching

Right ,,,,,,,,,, I see now.

Maybe manguish's does touch & he just ain't noticed!

Well done & thanks for your speedy & Graffic description.

added; so the plastic "item" does exist ,,,,,, or at least used to !!!!

Top stuff

I'll check ;)

Octy 1 vrs btw.

Oh well, i stand corrected, it does touch, but there's a small silver stuck on plastic bit to protect the paintwork...

Teach me to look next time ;)

Just been out to look at mine.... in the dark - with a torch! Neighbours probably think I've lost it

I have an Octy 1 vRS estate.

There is the cut-out in the spoiler, and then what looks like a strip of tape running down the middle of it.

No sign of scratches anywhere, but will have another look in daylight.

Was gonna say my plastic strip is red to match the body colour, but perhaps they are all clear plastic as mentioned above by Octygone, to give the appearance of being body-coloured.

Ok spoiler "peeps".

Are all your spoilers the same as the one on Makefish's car (see his attachments)?

Do you all have a gap on the end & a groove in the topside?

Yes.

Where we going with this by the way?

Yes.

I'm trying to establish if the Milotec spoiler is the same.

The non vRS estate (mine) don't have them & I think the rear end looks crape.

So if the Milotec one does the job' date=' I'll fit it.

At 83 squids (including sticky stuff) it's got to be bundles cheeper than a Skoda dealer part!

[b']Or does anybody know different ????[/b]
