Fabia VRS

Featured Replies

I'm selling my Civic Type-R and i 'm thinking about a Fabia VRS as a more sensible replacement, however i'd like to tune the Fabia, how much bhp can you get out a fabia without having to upgrade clutch and gearbox etc..

Try the Searches on Re-maps etc, It's not BHP that kills the clutch in a furby, it's the huge amount of torque!!!

IIRC Think about 15-20K clutch life expantcy on a Remapped car!!!

Jabba, appear to have found that anything over 190 BHP & associated increase in torque, the clutch starts to slip.

So for safety sake anything below 190bhp with associated incerease is reasonably safe, but dont forget , you will increase wear on these items and invalidate your warranty. ;):)

An air filter, fat intake and a remap will hit around 180bhp IIRC for the Fabia vRS. Torque figures go from 300Nm to 420+Nm. What a way to get another 50bhp, a bloody remap.

Cheers for the quick response!

I'm sure 180bhp in a diesel will feel a lot faster than having to rev my Civic to death all the time, i used to drive a 115tdi golf gt and it seemed pretty quick because of the grunt low down. The Civic is totally different, doesn't feel that fast unless you take it past 5500 revs and up to the red line!

Indeed mate!

I made the swap from my CTR a month back and no regrets at all.

The Fabia is not as quick as the CTR but its a totally driving style, the CTR as you said had to rev to get going but the Fabia has loads of low down torque.

Where sometimes you put your foot down and think 'come on' as its out of VTEC the Fabia drags you out of the corners very easily without needing to downchange.

Saves a bit on the wallet too! :D

I switched from an M3 to Furby and no regrets, especially after remap and Eibachs!

I think the torque limit is around 320 lbs of torque befor problems with clutch!
