Shame I  did not spot this thread earlier.........................I have decided to give up on SLR/ DSLR as getting in the way, too big to carry around for 80% of my shots..................I was using my trusty Fuji finepix XP10 for most of my stuff & pics taken at 100iso & blown up to A3 size are stunning for a cheap point &shoot.

However I have just got the new Olympus TG-4.....................super tough, freeze/water/drop proof......................f2 lens!!!...........nice & fast!..............only 100mm (35mm) max zoom but bought the tele lens adaptor as well.............also it does a super macro/microscope mode..............1cm close focus...............

Just google it.........I am glad I bought it, as way more usefull & it shoots RAW files & HD movies also...........

Hi All,

Below are a few photos taken with my new Canon Powershot SX510 HS. I'm an utter amateur and need to figure a few of the settings and functions out, yet the quality of the detail captured has really impressed me. Your opinions and advice are most welcome.

Here are a few of the car after detailing it recently:

I visited Chester Zoo recently too, and took the opportunity to try out the zoom capability and attempted to capture some decent colours too:

Some great pictures in there Clarkey - looks like money well spent.

As said on the Styling section; some great pics and detail captured.

Shows off your detailing efforts tremendously well

Very nice indeed

Some very good quality pictures taken

Your detailing and photography skills appear to have developed well

Thanks guys. At least the paint now appears as the strong red it really is rather than the tinge of orange that it appeared to be on the images from the old Olympus! Money indeed well spent on the Canon.

  • 1 month later...

I wanted a fixed lense camera which would give good results.

I plumped for the Fuji X 20, I really wanted the Canon G15

but there you go. I hardly use my Nikon D80 anymore.
