After a premature water pump failure, the car entered safe mode day later.

No warning lights came on. Vagcom tells me that no or bad signal from secondary coolant pump. This safe mode happened 3 or 4 times. While car up was noticed that their was a small leakage on a very.small length tube. This was changed couple days ago and guess what, safe mode again, few times already, and no warning lights.

Seems the car doesn't like to have the cooling liquid removed.
