2009 Octavia estate 1.9 tdi remap prices

Featured Replies

So I have just called one of the sponsors to find out the impact on our insurance of getting the above car remapped for fuel economy only.

It does 20,000 miles p.a.

Even allowing for my wife's recent claim on her policy (no other party involved ) and the 10% increase her claim will make to my premium, we will see a further £60 added to the premium.

For a six year old car worth maybe 5 k at a push this seems high?

Whether it's high will depend on the period of cover left. If you've only got one month left on the policy £60 seems high. If you've got 11 months left, £60 isn't too bad. Does that include any admin fee, has the fee been waived or will it be added on top?

Hi and thanks.

It is ex fees and for the full period.

If that is the going rate then not to worry. I'd of thought a non racy car remapped to reduce our fuel bill would have been less..maybe £40 odd.

Oh well...Bridge crossed later in the summer maybe.

Thanks.

For the full policy period, that is pretty bang tidy (£5 per month)! Remap for economy is still a remap regardless and I wouldn't expect anything other than an increase. Otherwise someone saying to an insurer "it's to get better mpg, honest!" would be a commonly used phrase. Some members see much higher increases to premiums when getting a remap. If you do save more than £5 a month it will slowly start paying for itself.
