Suspension advice

Featured Replies

I have had my mk3 vrs 12 months now and it's about time I sort out the "sport" suspension, IMO it is too soft.

The upgrades I am thinking of doing is to fit the Bilstein B12 suspension kit, although I did not really want to lower the car as I understand this kit comes with eibach pro springs.

The other upgrades would be to fit front and rear anti roll bars, H&R ?,

Any advice from someone running this setup or similar would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Mark

Too soft?_well if you drove on smooth roads/ track I guess it maybe.

The arbs are for torsion bar suspension aren't they? Vrs has multi link.

Like everything, suspension is personal choice. Can you say more on what you want, what the roads you drive are like, how loaded the car is, and what rims and tyres you have?

I did Eibach F+R arb's on mine and it made a massive difference to roll in corners. I also had Eibach -30 springs and Koni FSD's from new but if I was doing it again Id go with B8 dampers and the lowering springs - effectively the B12 kit you mention. :)

No. Wrong way round, they are for independent suspension, some torsion setups don't utilise arb's at all.

Hi, thanks for the info, were the Eibach springs you used the proline version and what was the actual drop in ride height?, i notice in your sig you have listed B6 dampers, how do they compare to the B8's, so either Eibach or H&R ARB's should make a significant improvement in body roll?.

as above, drop was -30mm. Do a search for my recent posts where I mention B6 and B8's as I've just stuck a set of each on my two cars. :)

You could just upgrade to b6 dampers without touching springs as the valving is the same as the b8 dampers on the b12 kit, with the only difference with b8s being shorter for pairing with lowering springs.
