Do these make any difference at all ?

Featured Replies

Hey guys I have a octavia vrs mk2 2008 already a custom remap , looking to put on a atmospheric BOV ?

I hear they take 10 mins to fit and can get to it by the drivers side wheel arch ?? Do they make any difference to the car or they just a waste of money ?

They make sight challenged pensioners think the bus with the drop down suspension has arrived :)

i'm not a fan (because they are noisy & illegal where I live)

I'd recommend a GFB DV+

I'd recommend a standard revision G diverter valve. GFB DV+ a waste of money IMO and lasted about 4 days on my car.

I have the forge bov on mine made not diff to performance but I like the sound, when driving hard it's loud when driving normal it's hardly noticeable :)

its located just under the engine cover at the front of the engine, there is some cheap forge copy versions on ebay ,then if you dont like it you wont of wasted loads of money like with a forge version, all u are gaining is a noise so its your choice noise or no noise.

If you want noise then get one, of you want your engine to perform at it's best stick to a rev d or g

I'd recommend a standard revision G diverter valve. GFB DV+ a waste of money IMO and lasted about 4 days on my car.

It broke or you felt it did nothing & removed it?

I had one prior to GFB uprating the spring, it couldn't handle the boost from a stage 2+ map (not that much more). They're also known to leak.

How hard are these to fit ? I hear you can just pull off the engine cover and takes about 10 min to fit ?? Any guides ?

tsi engine is at the back on the turbo.  You need access under the car.  The correct allen key & 30 minutes.

TFSI might be different but I'd count on more than 10 minutes

We're also all assuming the OP is referring to the TSI VRS. If its the TDI one...

Yeah it's the tfsi 2.0 petrol vrs

The point of venting to atmos excess boost pressure is to prevent turbo lag during off throttle usually gear change. Basically when you change gear you lift off and your turbo stalls because its starved of exhaust gasses. By venting the boost pressure it allows the turbo to keep spinning so when you get back on the gas the spool up time is quicker Its also less pressure on your turbo so decreases wear. So theoretically it can increase your track performance. Sadly most people who fit dump valves as they are also known is to show off with the noise.
