For all you IT boffins out there who have spent the morning assisting so called engineers who blame not being able to access services that use Java on a server or servers you maintain then do take note of this

Oh and the fix to be able to use Java once again after updating to the latest and greatest is below

 

1, Start Google Chrome and in your URL bar, navigate to: chrome://flags/#enable-npapi

2, Once on the configuration page, click the Enable link located in the NPAPI configuration section.

3, Once you've enabled NPAPI, go ahead and restart Chrome

Even the fix is only temporary, with support for that being withdrawn in the next few months.
