Mk3 Octy Wheel Hubs - need a tidy.

Featured Replies

Hi all, me again.

With the planned move to new alloys gaining momentum, I am looking for a decent paint to tidy up the wheel hubs as they will be even more visible through the wheels.

From new, obviously hubs are silver but after 16 months or so, a light film of rust is beginning to appear.

So, anybody recommend a tough, easy to apply (by brush?) silver paint that fairly closely matches the original?

I was considering Hammerite but open to suggestions...

Hammerite Smooth

Used it many times .......on Hubs and Calipers

I have used both the Hammerite and Foliatec products on my cars present and past.

For the hubs - Hammerite Silver is very good and durable - currently on my R36 hubs infact

But FYI - for brake calipers i have tended to opt for the Foliatec products.

You're welcome & enjoy

Normally any decent engine enamel will work fine on the discs and there are loads of colours to choose from. Black works well on darker colour alloys
