Difference between 1.2 TSI 105 and 110

Featured Replies

Does anybody know what the difference is between

- the "old" 1.2 TSI CBZx engine (105 hp version) used in model years 2011-2014, ie the first generation 1.2 TSI and

- the engine found in (at least) Fabia III specced for 110 hp.

The engine in Fabia III is mounted the other way around in the engine bay, and the auxiliaries are positioned differently, timing chain is replaced by belt etc, but are there any real differences between these two engines or is the increase in power thanks to improved EC software

The new EA 211 engine is very different.(check wikipedia for EA 211 engine.)

Much lighter, more compact and more efficient, with a higher 10.5 to 1 compresson ratio.
