Best brakes that fit under 16" wheel

Featured Replies

I'm wanting some decent brakes, nothing major flash like £1200 but some good 4 pots, Leon cupra or Ibiza cupra maybe.

Which ones will fit a 2006 Fabia Vrs under 16" genuine VW monza gti alloys. Don't like the 17" ones so must stay 16".

I'm sure I've seen tarrox under 16's.

I'm sure I've seen tarrox under 16's.

not under standard 16" wheels i've tried my discs are 330mm not 323mm though

I may be wrong, but I thought Dav-vRS had them under the standard wheels? 323's I believe

I'd want the 312 discs if possible really.

Just wanted something better than the Audi TT etc upgrade.

i thought i seen them under 16" wheels but thought my discs were 323mm i bought standard wheels for track but were catching on the face of the caliper

312mm set up are good enough my m8 got them on his golf i got tarox ones mainly for the look but love the stopping power aswell

I thought the TT upgrade was 312mm?

I'm sure 312 will be enough braking power. Unless you like head butting the steering wheel ? :p

Yeah the 312mm upgrade is from the TT etc, but I'm sure I've seen people use bigger calipers with the 312mm discs.

I've had the 312mm upgrade before, which I liked, but wanted a decent caliper behind the wheel.

Someone on the fb page has managed to fit a set of Porsche four pots under 16s! They're a real tight squeeze and needed shaving a tad but they're on! They aren't rears either and running 312 discs, I'll see if I can get a pic

Thanks Paul, that's ideal really, the sort of look im going for!

But don't want to much messing about taking a few mm off calipers and the wheels :D

I thought the cupra r's might have fitted under standard 16s but might only be 17" as well.

For me the ride difference from 16" to 17" is night and day! Never want 17"s on a Fabia again, but saying that I'm never having cheap coilovers again either, must be getting old!

Why don't you look into getting some decent pads? Look up Carbotec XP8's people over on the Pulsar forum and others swear by them they apparently have great stopping power, used on cars with much more power than the Fabia's and provide better stopping power than Mintex or DS2500's. They are quite expensive though.

Pads will be redstuff if available for the calipers I buy. Standard discs I suppose, wouldn't mind grooved but heard drilled and grooved make noise at low speeds.

If noise is a problem then Carbotech is not for you. I wouldn't touch redstuff personally, I have yellowstuff on the Pulsar and they are pants.

So It's looking like the 312s are going to have to do?
