TTRS console bushes added...Now pulling to the left on acceleration.

Featured Replies

So yeah, I changed out more tired and worn console bushes for shiny, solid, TTRS bushes purchased from Darkside. It seemed twitchy when I drove home, but I assumes that's because the tracking was off...

Friday I got the tracking sorted and found that under acceleration (2k revs upwards) it pulls noticeably to the left, more noticeable is the way it snaps back to straight when you let off on the gas...I've been told it's potentially torque steer, but would the bushes really cause that much of a change or is this a sign of potentially more serious problems?

Where did you have the tracking done?. Was it a 4 wheel alignment or just front tracking?

I had the tracking done at the Hinckley Branch of Britannia tyres, it was indeed 4 wheel alignment.

I noticed that there's a clunking coming from the drivers side front now, one clunk on acceleration, then one on deceleration or braking...Sounds as if something is moving backwards and forwards which is more than a little unsettling.

I would get this inspected just to make sure nothing has come loose. This doesn't sound right to me.

Sounds like the wishbone is lose to me

If this likely to be down to the bush fitting or the tracking?

I'm going to see if I can have a poke around under it after work and see if there's anything obviously loose. I guess I'll need it all tracked up again if this turns out to be the case?

Probably down to fitting but when I had my tracking done. They checked everything was tight and the condition of the suspension components

I thought they would've checked stuff like that when they did the tracking as well...Seemingly not :-(

They don't always check everything. I would get it jacked up and check that everything is tight. If not tighten it up and then take it back to where you had the tracking done and tell them it's not right and ask them to check it.

So, the front wishbone bolt was very loose...Now it's nice and tight, no pulling in either direction, no clunking. Tracking is obviously up the creek again though so I'll drop it in on Friday to be re-done. Is that the kind of thing they'd reasonably do for free as they didn't notice the bolt was loose?

Yer they should do it for free. Don't tell them that the bolt was lose
