should the chain / kit be replaced at a specific interval ? i have a slight jingly thing going on . is this a slack chain ? thanks

I thought a standard chain was 100,000?

Mine's got 65000 miles on and the chain rattles quite a bit at idle, they are well known for it. The engine doesn't have a chain tensioner, so when the chain gets a bit stretched it starts to thrash about. Never heard of one breaking on the MPI though. I just put up with mine as it drives fine and I can't be bothered to change it yet.

There's no specific interval on the 1.4 MPi.

 

If it rattles badly all the time then it is recommended to change it.

 

The odd "jingle" it will probably be fine.
