CD to PC

Featured Replies

Hi, I have a training CD that I want to be able to use on a laptop that has no CD drive. My desktop does have a CD drive.

Can I convert the CD to a file that I can then copy to the laptop.

Thanks in advance

Convert the cd to an iso file with something like imgburn and then use something like Daemon tools lite, which is a virtual cd, on the laptop to play it

Depending on who it is configured, you might just be able to copy it straight onto a USB drive - then to the PC and run it. I have found LOADS of disks that work this way.

As said it very much depends what is on the CD.

Assuming it's a data CD. try copying the whole contents to a folder on the lappy. Then setup a shortcut to the *.exe file on your desktop. CDs are laughable small compared to modern memory and disk capacities.

The above may not work if the CD is protected by some form of "video games" style anti-piracy installer though.
