Cooler running thermostat for TDi - part number needed

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone have the part number for the 80 degree cooler running thermostat, suitable for a 110bhp tdi engine?

Thanks

but why?

because the thermostat doesnt open in time, and then the car overheats - the tune up and hybrid are causing the engine to run hotter.

Darkside advertise a genuine 80 degree thermostat for £25 + vat + delivery, but as i got tps account, i might as well buy direct for £20 - its just they dont know which car its off to be able to order it for me.

Your statement would indicate that if you drive the car sensibly until the stat is open your problem will be solved, unless the 90 degree stat isn't opening fully and restricting the flow, a standard stat will cure that problem.

ive tried 2 standard stats and they both fail to open.  instead, the coolant is released from the expastion bottle as the pressure builds up.

the headgasket has been done.

i am currently running no thermostat, which seems to be ok - so now, i want to run a 80 degrees stat.

so, does anyone have the part number pls?

you have problem with the cilinder head, not thermostat

Are you sure there are no broken blades on the water pump or that it is a plastic one just spinning free on its shaft?
