How to use Media input? (Probs had this question loads)

Featured Replies

I've got a got fabia 1.2 monte and it's come with a media cable but only for a iPhone 4 so I've got iPhone 4 adapter for my iPhone 6.

It plugs in fine and charge the phone but no music??

Anyone shed any light on this??

Its probably the adaptor. I think only the genuine adaptors do audio as well as charge. I picked a genuine one up from eBay for a tenner and it works well.

Yeah, don't use an adaptor, use a proper cable. You'll be looking for a white collar one for the iphone 6 (lightning).

I sold one on ebay a couple of days ago. :-|

When I used it in mine we got music, full track info and full control in MFSW.

This might explain why even using an adaptor I don't get full control on the music via the mfsw. I might have to try a proper MDI cable. They aren't cheap though.

No, they're not. Had I known you were looking Adam...... ;)

Mine only got used for an hour or so by the ex. Personally I'm not a fan of iPhones, so it seemed logical to get rid of it. Mike H had the rest of the MDI kit, as that was redundant too. Even more so once I get this sodding BT working! I don't mind being prepared, but there are limits as to what inputs I need.

However, out on The Bay, I have seen a BT adaptor for MDI (streaming only), but that's all I can say.....I've seen one.

Anyway......

The iPhone adaptors, even official ones, don't always work. I got one for the ex and her iPhone/Alpine setup.....hit and miss as to functionality: sometimes it worked, sometimes it would only charge, sometimes it would only stream, sometimes it did neither. IMHO just another Apple money-making thing. Of course, now I really couldn't give a fark if it works or not :) :)

Ha ha, nor should I really, but the kids and Mrs insist on iphones....
