Intermittent problem with central locking

I have a skoda Fabia 2010. The driver door sometimes doesn't unlock with the central locking. I can open it with the key. This only happens sometimes. I can hear the lock activating but the door doesn't get unlocked.Are there any simple tests I could do to narrow the problem down. Car is under warranty but I'd have to pay diagnostics myself and would rather not have to if it's an easy fix.

You could check for Briskoda members close to where you live who offer diagnostics for a couple of beers.
