Wipers?

Featured Replies

Urm, it's rain and my have seem to pack up  well atleast the intermitant bit. Push down and they will wipe, push up and toggle through and they wont work. Push up again and they are on all the time.

Any ideas? I've checked the bonnet it shut. I've only turned off the engine and restarted.

Anything else I've missed

Was going to say have you checked its not on the longest wipe setting, but then even on that setting it gives one wipe as soon as you flick it up....

Would this kind of thing log a fault I wonder? Hmmmm

That's what I though so I played with that abit going from shortest to longest and nada!

Strange that it's gone funny when the service spanner came on?

coincidence. :) Can only assume its a duff part of the switch. Guess your stealer will need to replace the whole indicator/wiper stalk aseembly? Take it no cruise or other fiddling has gone on with that area?

Nope, though if the stalk needs to be replaced might be worth getting CC retro fitted at the same time.

Also whats the deal with the rear wiper, when its raining it give a wipe when I go into reverse and then other times it doesnt?????

If you have the wipers on & select reverse, the rear wiper will swipe once.

flatfourburble - Sounds like either the switch or relay that's faulty.

gremalins!

I know you've probably checked it, but..

If it's just the intermittent thats not working, check to see if your bonnet is fully shut.

An open bonnet will spot the intermittent wipe.

Have you checked any wires/sensors around that sort of area and if there's any water got in?

no I haven't but that is a good point you've mad, as I've been hearing what seems like running water in the bulkhead when it rains heavy.

Dunno - I'm a numpty too ;) I just meant around the bonnet catch area, although if there was a problem, I'd expect the alarm to go off? One for Ross I expect
