Stupid silly interior light symptoms

Featured Replies

Surely the vRS roof interior lighting unit isn't different to the TDI?

At the moment I'm just about "living" with my car having no internal light come on when you unlock the car, even with the button switched to "open doors" setting. I have two settings for off, and the permanently on does work as it should. Sooooo, what the hell is up?

For those that don't know, the wiring going to it is vRS, including the alarm little box with the switch on it, but kept the original lighting unit it plugs in to, as the untrained eye (thats me, Ross eh? "untrained") it looked the same plug/fitting unit as the vRS.

Could the fact the lights don't come on when its set to doors open mean that something inside is different, and I need that unit. :) (to add to my "this is what I've changed" list ;))

have you tried changing the bulb :):):)

haha

Bulbs are fine - They come on 24/7 if I set it it to that point. ;) its kjust it would be nice if the lights came on when I switched the car off and took the key out the ignition and when I unlocked the car too. That was always useful at night.

i was inthe same dilema when my buld went, its amazing the small comforts that you miss when they are gone

knackered switch? Have you tried 'jiggling' it.

Are we talking about the switch now? :D:rofl:

Yeah, I've tried wiggling it a bit and nothing really happens - I think I might bite the bullet and get the unit. At least then my number of things electronically clashing is down by one point (a few to go though :D)
