Lumpy running / misfire at 1800rpm

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help. I have a 2008 Octavia  BXE engine1896cc tdi that was running very flat and emitting smoke. Fault codes showed EGR and air flow so both of these were replaced with genuine units. Turbo was replaced at same time as was whistling (has done 95,000 miles).

No smoke now and the power is back, except at 1800 - 2200 rpm it misses and stutters terribly. Below that it is fine, above that fine. Checked all turbo / vacuum pipes and replaced a couple of vacuum pipes that looked worn. No improvement. No fault codes present.

Skoda main dealer suggested an injector harness. Done that, no improvement. They are now suggesting 4 new injectors as the "next logical step" but have pointed out they are not sure this will fix it!

Any ideas before I thrown more money at it?

Thank you.....

Have you changed the fuel filter? Made a BIG difference to mine, if you search on here you will see a thread with a picture I took. Was minging! I had a terrible power loss when accelerating hard it, almost like someone put the handbrake on, fuel filter fixed it instantly

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have. It gets serviced every 10,000 miles or so - always genuine filters and always Quantum long-life 5w 30. Did the filters at the same time as the EGR and air mass.
