For quite a few years anyway: diesel cheaper than petrol!

Maybe all the bad news for diesel drivers is having an effect after all.

Or maybe people are switching to small engine petrol's?

Prices around my way diesel is still more.

This is only one garage in our area (thankfully my preferred one).

I think there is a move to smaller engines and petrol engines. But is this due to the anti-diesel movement in the press / government / cities though?

Or just as petrol and even hybrid technology advances they are more appealing than the dpf worrying diesels.

You dont have much choice about buying a smaller petrol engine in a fashion

Want a 1.6 vag engine? Nah... Take a 1.2 turbo...

Never seen that before, that is cheap for diesel!

It's about 3 or 4p a litre cheaper than most other places (excluding supermarkets). We do have a Harvest garage in town which helps keep prices down at the major garages I think.

Shell Garage in Dumfries at 123.9 today for derv petrol was 117.9 I think.

Seems to have gone up quite a bit.

Done quietly not sure there is any economic reason like crude price, exchange rate etc etc

Local morrisons and tesco 119.9 for diesel

I'm stunned by the number of fuel price increases there's been in the past few weeks, with the greedy oil companies taking advantage of the election to sneak through rises on the basis of speculation about what might happen with the new government economy, rather than on the basis of the contract prices they've agreed for this quarter on crude prices.  They're nowt but greedy opportunists and it's high time that  the monopolies and mergers commission took a fresh look at the blaggards.  Petrol's risen from £1.13 a litre to £1.20 a litre here in just two short weeks.  That's taking the pi**
