Thread lock for turbo screws and EGR delete kits

Featured Replies

Stripped the turbo and cleaned it.

Not sure what grade of Loctite to use on the three torq bolts which hold the vane plate onto the casting and the five bolts which secure the compressor to the manifold.

High temp thread locker is recommended as the temperatures can reach 600' C.

A high temp Loctite such as 272 works upto 200' C.

I have some 221 for small threads and works upto 150'C.

VW use blue coloured thread lock, the same colour as Loctite 242 which is also valid upto 150'C.

The inlet manifold was caked up with tarry soot, so reading about the EGR delete kits, but I am not sure how to get rid of the EML or what it costs.

What is the consensus on EGR delete kits?

Thanks
