Global closing windows?

Anyone been able to enable global closing on the front windows?

Are you thinking of rear window controls in the front? I know earlier models were lacking those. I have a 2014 sport which has them.

I'm trying to see if anyone has been able to enable 'one touch close' via VCDS?

One touch close not physically supported alas - the Rapid is missing the ECU code to do it rather than it simply not being enabled.

Damn it. That really annoys me every time. Especially when my other car has it

It's aweful to think they've not included such a simple thing...

Unfortunately, the Rapid is a car built to a low global price. While it's well put together in parts (engine for example), in some other corners of the car (like electrical systems), they have skimped inexplicably on certain features and components, even though they are present on smaller cars in the line-up (like the Fabia).

Well they are cheap I guess. Still overall very pleased with mine

One-touch close requires that all window buttons are two-stage both ways. All buttons on the Rapid are one-stage both ways, except for the driver's window button which is two-stage but only on one way (don't remember which one).

Coding one-touch close with single-stage buttons could be done in theory, but would be rather annoying to use and would require pressing one way for "go" and the other way for "stop".

Does anyone know what are the prerequisities for "comfort" windows opening/closing? Is CECM support enough or there must be special kind of motors or wiring?

Wouldn't an updated Convenience module be enough to enable this?

I'm not sure on the Rapid electrics but my Octavia had this function on all windows and was only an Ambiente spec.

I sadly do have just the front window switches but I meant that even those with the rear windows wouldn't be able to get global closure to work as skoda haven't included it in the setup... Not using carista or vcds :( There is a thread on here somewhere that I remember reading a long time ago about the switches not having two clicks (? something like that) and the module not having it as an option or something - sorry to be vague... but it seems the answer is sadly computer says no!

Not sure about this. My Elegance Rapid has the 6R0 937 086 R variant. Later variants are the 6R0 937 087 R and 7H0 937 090 D (all for the MY2015 Rapid, there are other options for the MY2016 variant but I don't know whether they fit).

No-one here has reported enabling remote windows so my bet is that either none of these bcms support the feature (then why VCDS reports the option as valid?? ) or that our car lacks something else (wiring/regulator/other).

Quite possibly additional wiring and different switch set maybe? [emoji17]

Even so. Very disappointing [emoji57]

Ditto. It's missing some of the gewgaws that were on the  basic Golf that it replaced, and has some other quite useful ones - I bought it partly from the cost object and the basics that I needed are all there, so I'm quite happy to have saved a few bob on purchase - some £3k or so on the equivalent used VW product.

I was annoyed that my MX5 didn't have the one-touch window closing though - the switches are by the gearlever on that one, and its a bit more convoluted to get in and do the job!
