Polish

Featured Replies

Really sorry if this is a common thread, I have run out of autoglym super resin polish that's the only polish I've ever had. Just been looking around and seen auto smart cherry glaze.

The valeters in work use autosmart stuff just wondering if anyone has any views on this. Or any other recommendations.

Thanks

I tend to find Autsomart products are pretty good.

Good value, good performance etc but it will really need a wax over the top to protect the finish.

At the end of the day, for all the marketing hype out there, there are only a few companies manufacturing car cleaning chemicals in the UK.  You often find some remarkable similarities between products.  For example, take a look at the number of products in the market called Clarity or that share the exact same use instructions as certain products from CarChem :)

If you ask people who have tried a big range of products they will often say that they have gone back to something like Autoglym Super Resin and found it to be just as good or better than the product they are using which cost 4x as much.

Far and away the thing that will have the biggest difference is your technique and process.  If you like to chop and change and try lots of different products I would say that for most people a litre of the Autosmart is more than 12 months worth of product

Thank you very much for the reply, for £8.99 I think il give this a go. My autoglym lasted a long time so im sure this will.

Thanks again

Richard

AGSRP has fillers in it to help mask slight swirls and scratches, so depending on what your paint is like you might not get the same finish using other products. I've not used it myself so can't say how effective it is but its something to bear in mind. If you do use something else and find out the SRP was covering imperfections up then you could then consider getting it valeted by a professional with a DA or rotary polisher to get rid of them altogether then you could use what ever you wanted, though a machine polish won't be cheap.

Whilst I don't use autosmart polishes, their range is good and I get a fair few other items from them.  Also handy there's a local rep who comes round in a lorry, so I have no need to travel to find stuff.

Reminds me actually, won't be long until I need another 5 litres of tardis.

Didn't get cherry glaze in the end, looked on autosmart's web page at their products. Topaz seems like a good hybrid polish. Looking into this and going to see if I can get it through work to save me some money :)

Not a bad move - I know Ben (BTS22) rates AS-Topaz very highly.

I have a sample at home (thanks Ben), but haven't had time to test it yet.

I've just been on forums and websites a lot today looking and everyone recommends topaz, not sure il need 5 litres of the stuff and I've found 1 litre for £12/£13 on eBay with a bottle and sponge. Just try convince the valeters in work to get 5 litres and I long term borrow some from them :)

I do like the looks of the Topaz reviews! Good choice!

As soon as I get my hands on some il give it a go and post up my opinions. Not a professional but every opinion helps others choose. Il try my best anyway :) I can take a guess my roof will look amazing with it. Perk of a Monte Carlo metallic black roof :D

Definitely pal. Always great to get as many reviews up from everyone. Helps people sift through 1000s of products. Looking forward to it!

Careful, Topaz isn't a polish as such. It's a long long story but it's more of a glaze/LSP in one. Yes it fills, but not as much as a dedicated filler polish.

It can be used on everything and doesn't dust or leave any white marks. It produces some extremely glossy results.

It's one of the easiest products I've ever used and is very cheap.

If you wanted a sample I can send you one over if you cover postage, I've got about 2L left from my 5L can.

I would also be wary of buying it from eBay unless from a trusted seller. Plus it's not expensive, 5L can is about £20 plus VAT from my rep.

Try and split it with someone local if you can.

I've seen some sellers on eBay with very little feedback, staying away from them. Currently watching a company with 5,000+. But before I go ahead and get it il see if they can get it through work. I've seen the autoglym van, sure I've seen the autosmart one too.

Thanks for the input on this.

Where are you based mate? (Can't see as I'm on my phone).

Can still send you 100ml if you want.

Can i just ask what colour car do you have?

as i have a black one and i used for the first i used the AG ultra deep shine for dark cars and wow all the swirls and marks have gone then a coat of the HD wax and its a great finish :)

I'm based in Swansea, Wales. Don't need to send any out although I really do appreciate the offer thank you.
