has anyone got any idea why this evening that 4 times i switched aircon on the car cut out,switched aircon off started straight away,any help please its a mk1 2.0l petrol octavia ambiente any help welcome thanks all :notme: :p

dont know how would i check it and where is it.sorry im no mechanic :dull::thumbdown:

It runs off the auxilliary belt and if it's the same as the diesel engines it sits below the alternator. The pulley has an electromagnetic clutch which engages when you turn the aircon on. The pulley turns all the time but the centre of it only turns when the aircon is running.
