Anyone got a yeti with Alcantara?

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Long time no post,

I've had a yeti with cloth seats and my current yeti has gobi leather which looks lovely but is not that robust.

Especially folding down the rear seats, its so easy to get marks and indentations on the leather where the seat belt fittings stick up, (Stupid Skoda!)

Must confess I prefer the durability and feel of cloth seats but wondered if any one had any issues with the Alcantara seats which are now an option on new yetis as an alternative to leather.

Cheers.

I have Alcantara. It has held up remarkably well. It does still get depression marks but they seem to disappear quickly. They have not worn anywhere, the non-Alcantara bits have picked up a bit of patina (creases) but they still look great.

I've never experienced alcantara - is it more grippy than slippery leather?

For reference my Superb will be clocking up 100k next week, and the alcantara seats still look great. No sagging or marks.

I'll get a photo put up.

Yes - it's like a synthetic suede.

That's what I'd like next then.

Couple of pics of my Alcantara seats

I also have alcantara - chosen specifically because a) I don't like leather (too hot in the summer, too cold in the winder, and too slippy when travelling fast) and B) I have alcantara in my other car and 140,000 miles down the road it still looks good, no cracking or crazing that leather so often gets.

Our Yeti is 24000 miles in and the seats still look brand new.

So yes, definitely recommend it!

Good to know was a little concerned about the Alcantara myself!

I really liked the Alcantara on both my standard Octavia vRS seats and my Recaro CSs. Very hard wearing in both cases. I picked up a friend from football once. He'd unknowingly cut the back of his leg and managed to bleed all over the light grey material at the front of the standard vRS seat. It came off easily with just cold water on a cloth.

Thanks Guys that's really helpful, and thanks for the pics Coops.

I'll be certainly going for Alcantara instead of leather again.

Cheers
