Featured Replies

Looking on ebay and search tells me its 6.5" is that right? If so will any speaker fit.

I cant find anywhere info on if it has to be certain depth. Plus also how to do the job and what tools needed?

Im just after front ones that are better than standard. Halfords doing some for £20

Are these a straight fit? Just un-clip the old speakers and tweeters and plug these in, of course I need to mount the speakers where the original were.

Thanks!

165/175 diameter and 62mm depth (treat that as absolute maximum, mine sit on the window guide and slightly deform the plastic door panel..

Originals are riveted in and include a "spacer".

Spacer is needed to clear the window guide that passes directly behind the speaker magnet. Get Autoleads or similar plastic spacers or MDF rings. The plastic spacers may prove easier unless you can make and adjust your own MDF rings.

@DannHall: No, OEM kit does NOT have a "full" crossover ISTR. It just includes a filter to stop bass frequencies going to the tweeter. So any setup that includes a crossover box will need that attached somewhere on the door carrier and the wiring done between the car speaker wiring, the crossover and the new speakers.
