But as I am skint...

Not surprised you're skint Nik, from what you must have spent on upgrading your car, Lol.

From what I've read of your posts anyway ;) .

Yeah the wife thinks the £100 or so I have spent so far was worth it ;) crazy thing is it was always a stop gap car and will likely be for sale within six months. I enjoy the challenges though and it keeps me out of trouble. I am well known amongst friends for getting cars 100% sorted then selling them. I get bored easily

I don't mind the tdi Mike, I didn't want to replace it with something the car isn't like a red version or the likes. I did think of putting an m on the back, it seems pretty popular with BMW owners and I did wonder if it added some power. In all honesty I just hated the old font, the italic is nice but a bit fancy and the simple uppercase seemed the least flamboyant for what is essentially the base model.

I could never quite work out what it reminded me of... Nail on head with the Egyptian hieroglyphics!

Got the new style Skoda badge now, also spent an hour sanding polishing and then spraying my standard exhaust tailpipes in anthracite to match my wheels. What have you people done to me...I'm a total nerd! I also have the front and rear new style black and main badges on the way.

KBPhoto always says in some ways he wished he never found this forum as its cost him a small fortune over the years and I tend to agree! If it hadn't been for this forum I would probably never heard of the term retrofit or vcds coding and probably would have saved myself a packet!

Come to think of it, if it wasn't for this forum I would probably still be naively driving my 06 plate vRS thinking it was all I ever needed!

How are you finding the TSI DSG, Jon, if you don't mind me asking?

Considering next car and question is Petrol DSG or Diesel DSG. I have Diesel DSG, but have not tried a petrol yet. May start another thread on this.

It's really good to be back in a DSG. This is my second petrol auto vRS and the novelty has not yet worn off following a 7 month break in between DSG's!

I had said previously I would never go back to a manual but did and ended up spending every day of those 7 months regretting it!

If you're ever in south Birmingham and you want to give it the once over, let me know.

+1 for Petrol DSG - smooth and relaxed when you want - fun and quick when you want.
