Window / Mirror problem

Featured Replies

Hi all, any ideas on this? A couple of months ago, my mirrors would not fold in using the key fob 'lock' button (worked OK on the door switch). Had a look around the forum, found this could be down to the electric window 'calibration', so went through the reset process (down, up, hold), and all was well.

However, this now only seems to last for a couple of weeks, then the mirror fail to fold in again - 'recalibrating' the windows fixes it, but why is it necessary now to do this so often? What has gone wrong?

The car is 2.5 years old, 36000 miles, and has only just started doing it. Service due in 500 miles, so I would like a view on this before I take the car in, as I will have the dealers look into the problem.

Thanks in advance for your help . . .

Mine is 4 months old and done that twice, the Fabia we had for 10 years only did that twice in all 10 years.!

I know that there is a lot of "commonality" across the Skoda models, and we are very knowledgeable on here :giggle: , but wouldn't you be better posting this on the Superb section?

Ah, that explains it then. It's good that it's doing it daily as that should generate some fault codes tha they can read.

I suspect something is a bit tight bringing in the overload trip.
I'd make sure the window channel was clear and clean then run the window fully up and down a few times.

Same problem with mine, started yesterday. Will do the window reset and also follow Urrell advise. Will let you know the outcome.

Yep, I'll have a go myself before the service.

Perhaps there's ghosts in the machine!

Window reset worked and mirrors now fold in on remote again. Sorted.
