Clearing airbag warning light

Featured Replies

My own fault really - I was trying to fix a glovebox squeak/rattle at the weekend so had removed the glovebox, disconnecting the switch for the passenger airbag. I drove the car down the road with the glovebox removed to see if it was the source of the squeak and it was flashing the "Airbag off" light and the airbag warning light on the dash - obviously from having the switch removed.

Put it back together and no flashing, but it's obviously logged a fault code and the warning light is still lit when the car is running :(

I was hoping it would clear itself like engine faults can do, but it's still there. I tried scanning for faults with Torque but it doesnt see any - I guess it needs VCDS.

Is there any other way to reset the airbag warning light?

The good news is the squeak has gone!

You need VCDS or similar. Airbag light won't clear itself.

Bah.

Never mind, friend runs a garage and I'm borrowing his ramp next weekend to do an oil change - will borrow his VCDS then :)
