Any easy retrofits / upgrades I have missed?

Featured Replies

Have done central locking, interior map lights with leds, glasses holder, knurled aluminium heater controls, seat handle octavia logo, 2015 octavia rear badge, dashcam, Speedo dimmer switch, all window rear blinds, mfsw, maxidot, Columbus, Bluetooth, xenons, led sidelights, jumbobox with working vents, upgraded can gateway, steering controller, ccm, colour coded ashtray, gearstick surround and stereo surround, mk5 golf round gearknob. Any cheap easy ones I have missed?

A lot of not so easy ones there too...

Usb charging port in dash or glovebox?

TPMS?

Usb port would be handy, my m8 with genuine HTC holder has an auto charge car mode that activates Bluetooth and disconnects on removal.I do hate the wire hanging down for the charger so was going to route the charger through the top box above vents.Tpms would be good, will do some reading on that. We are thinking of getting a new engine for the car and possibly a respray once the missus finishes her teacher training. I've come to know the car quite well which I like and am already into negative equity.

Oh yes forgot cruise control I have that too.I already have 12v in the boot, please tell me that was an option as it then means I have an actual factory option on my car. I'd love a leather interior but estate leathers seem to be rare. I considered vrs but I don't like cars that are made to look like sportier versions. I have a beesting aerial but that's messed with radio reception. As I only have a blanking plate in the front of the dash where others seem to have something more important, that holds my GPS antenna.

I have the splitter already Mike but I was under the impression one was am and one fm. I bought it as I thought I had read somewhere it was required.

One of the aerials is am/fm in the roof, while the other is fm only and is a kind of back up for dropouts. It is called a diversity antenna and will be stuck on the rear quarterlight on newer higher spec cars. If you have the splitter you effectively use the roof aerial for both inputs and I would say it is quite possible that the beesting base is water damaged. Is it new or second hand?

Just added a mk5 golf leather gearknob, big improvement on the original I think.

I won't show you the rear seat between the two baby seats....If you are offering your cleaning services though Mike. Does vcds have an auto vacuum setting you can activate

Argh. Actually with my house renovations currently eating up all my time, those showers are the nearest thing to a bath for my car at present....

I spent the day digging over 30ft of garden because I'm too tight to pay for turf so opted for seed. The rest of my evening will be sent ordering the dog to chase the pidgeons that are eating my prized poundland seed.

Off topic, yeah, I know, but this is just to rub it in.

Mike

Lalalalalala, not listening, or looking....

Cruise control? LED interior door handle lights? Footwell lights? Parking sensors? Chrome interior door handles? 12 volt socket in rear interior and in boot? Beesting or shark fin short aerial? Self opening tailgate? Electric rear windows? Leather interior? Heated seats?

Question is == where do you stop? Yep, guilty as charged myself too............ :D

Oh hell, don't stop until you've retro-fitted a Haldex and the off-road package ;)

Next thing I'm looking at is front parking sensors so I can do a step by step guide for Nikonite

Was there a guide on here somewhere for fitting footwell lights and proper coding? I thought I saw one that included wiring to the ccm but I can't seem to find it now.

MDI

I can live without the MDI, I find the hard drive is enough for me let alone the sd card. I have rather old music tastes and a partner near half my age so I tend to only play my music when she isn't in the car.  When the kids are in the car we have some lovely alphabet / counting singalong sessions that remind me I really need to look at fitting some rear speakers so I can use fader.
