I have a Mk1 Fabia VRS and I plan to paint the front chrome grill. Has anyone done this themselves? Or can anyone offer any advice as to what the best way to go about this is?

I'd like to know this too as I plan to paint my Chrome Octavia grill.

I was hoping just scotching the chrome surface would be enough, repair any stone chips with acrylic putty, Primer then paint and lacquer.
