Micro SD card corrupted?

Featured Replies

64GB Transcend Micro SD card being used in a dashcam.

Won't format. Message says Windows cannot complete this action.

How can I tell 100% if it's kaput?

Have you looked in diskmanager to see if that can sort any rogue partitions first?

Nope. Bought from 7dayshop. Was in use in my dashcam until that locked up one day. Dash cam has since sorted itself out but card is as above.

Have you tried full format through dos

  59.78 GB obviously not the full 64GB but close enough

Have tried to format it through explorer says that the volume is write protected (it isn't)

If it claims to be write protected, one of two things has happened, either the write protect tab has broken, or the on board controller is borked. I have had both of these happen with a 7DayShop products, albeit their own generic branded cards.

How old is the card?? Transcend offer a generous warrant, so you may be able to return it (if it is genuine), and get a replacement.
