What roof bars and roof box are people using?

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy the above items for my Skoda Octavia Estate. As we have recently been on holiday to Weymouth and the car has impressed me just how much you can get in! Really impressed with the car as a whole, great on fuel too.

But we are quite keen campers and to do this I need the above items really as my dog and his bed take up a lot of the boot space.

So I was just wondering what folks are using, so if you could mention what you are using and pics would be great too.

I do like the look of the Thule stuff. Thanks :)

Thule motion 600 with Thule wing bar edge bars.

Low profile bars keep box close to roof. Very quiet as well. Also have Thule wing bars for her RAV4 as well.

Also have the Aldi roof bars that were £26

They turned out to be Menabo Brio bars.

Looked like they would fit a wide range of cars with roof rails.

I Brought genuine roof bars think i got them from my local TPS for £100 as i carry my bikes and kayaks with thule carrier for bikes and kayaks

Ditto with the Lidl bars - Menabo Brio 120cm model. Aluminium construction with a channel in the centre (covered with removable rubber strip) to accommodate Thule Rapid Fit bolts. TUV approved too. For the money they are great and ideal for occasional use.

I think it's only worth forking out on profiled bars if they are going to be left on permanently.
