Yup

A pre vtec. See if he'll let me test ride (its a shop). Im interested in how much smoother and hopefully nicer the gear driven cam pre vtec engine is.

Only problem is, the rest of the bike isnt supposed to be as good. But the money saved could be thrown at the suspension?

Id want to swap the wheels too if i did swap. Dno how a shop would feel about that! Haha.

There is only one way to find out! Best of luck.

Was one of the tidier ones ive seen.

But itd still had paint down the side, bit rough round the edges, some bodged in heated grips etc etc

Wasnt for me. I was gonna test ride it anyway, but the bloke was genuinly nice, not long had his business set up, offered me a brew etc. so i didnt fancy wasting his time tbh.

Onwards and upwords (:

I take it you're talking about the VFR750?  If so there are significantly better (and cheaper) alternatives out there.

My bog standard ZZR600-E1 Vs mate on same age VFR was a night and day difference, the ZZR would out accelerate the underpowered VFR in any gear even when he had a few seconds headstart the Z would reel him in and pass him extreamley quickly.  The ZZR is also a really comfortable cruiser.

Nah the vfr800 pre vtec.

Ive got a vfr vtec atm. I have ridden my mates zzr 600 (L reg, whichever model that is) and didnt enjoy it tbh. Not a big fan of inline 4's.

Id take my 800 over his zzr any day tbh. I just didnt enjoy riding it. Its nowhere near as responsive and felt like i had to keep winding it up and changing down for overtakes. Viffer doesnt need any of that. Just goes. Tis one of the reasons i like it (:

I test rode the New face lift VFR800 last week.

Its ok, but at £10.5K it didn't float my boat.

Waiting on the new Suzuki GSX-R 1000F for a test ride. Maybe next week.

Hmm thats the thing. I wouldnt buy a new one cos of the price and how little thats actually different.

The one ones actually down on power compared to the model before too (which ive got). Although honda are stating 110bhp just the same... The model ive got dynos at 108bhp or there abouts, and the new model is getting around 96bhp. Forum members are thinking its due to the new cams, as thr rest of the engine is primarily the same really.

Let us know what you think of the suzuki (:
