Service due...or not?

Featured Replies

Hi

I have an octy vrs facelift, iv had it for around 8 months now, this morning the trip was showing a spanner and next to it said 500 miles and above that it showed a 64 with a little clock thingy, what does that mean? Anyway there is also a sticker on the window that says a service isn't due for another 3000 miles, which one should I go by?

They're golden mate, not crystal! ;) Accordingly, what follows is informed guesswork, nothing more.

If you're on fixed mileage service, then it's every N miles OR D months, not just every N miles. So maybe you're a low mileage user? The "64" could be "days to service". The sticker will be a mechanic saying Mileage is S and writing S+N on it.

Or maybe you're on variable in which case a service is due when the car says it is?

I think the 64 is hours of use till service so engine running time. Mine had the same take a picture of it iv just had mine serviced because it was 9800 miles since last one and i always service every 10,000. Once that 500 gets to 0 it will start bonging noise when you get in the car before startup with a sign saying service.

Check your manual as stated above if its fixed service then go off that and we will assist in resetting the service light using a key and odometer sequence.
