AirCon pump delete on VRS, belt setup

Featured Replies

Can you remove the aircon pump and get away with fitting a non-aircon belt on a VRS or do you have to buy the bracket and the non-aircon belt tensioner?

unfortunately someone in its previous ownership removed all the pipe work from the bulkhead but left the aircon radiator in place, which i then removed completely when i fitted the Airtec Cooler

now i just want to get rid of the pump completely as it serves no purpose and i'm not going to reinstate the aircon anytime soon

I got all the pipe work for sale

For the sake of about 4 bolts id probly remove it anyway, the weigh quite a lot so some good weight saving to be had :)

I just asked the Seat dealer for a 'non-aircon' belt when I did away with mine. No extra brackets/routing changes.

No, but they are not that special :p 1.8T Ibiza's never came without aircon in this county but I still got a belt over the counter for one without...

Just ask the Skoda dealer for a non-aircon belt for your model, unless the parts guy is a muppet he will be able to get you one. Its probably the same belt as a PD100 etc without aircon.

I'm 99% sure all PDs came with air con, certainly on Skoda anyhow.
