Just getting used to my new Fabia sport, 1.2 12v 2006 model. I've got some slack in my gear selector. You can wobble the gear leaver about an inch side to side.

Never had this issue before, anyone changed the gear linkage bushes before?

Had a quick look at the problem today, linkages on the gearbox were solid so that's fine.

Checked in the car and noticed a spring that had no tension on.

I pushed down very lightly on the spring and problem solved!

Never changed one though, anyone els had this issue before?

Spring just resting in place, does nothing though.
