Fabia 1.4tdi

Featured Replies

I have sold my mk1 vrs as it was not getting used but I still want a 2nd car. I have seen a tdi but its plain, can I get some monte bits like arches to fit on it.

I would probably hold out for something that you want.

I had a look at another 1.9Tdi a few weeks ago in Sport spec. It looked great though I would be missing arm rest, cruise and climate control and a few other bits my current model has.

Then I priced up all the bits to add onto it and the costs went through the roof!

Its only for running about. I have a work van and we have an s max as a family car. I like the idea of 30 quid a yr road tax and still fit the kids in if need be. Cheap and cheerful but personalised

1.4Tdi should be fine for running about town. No DPF that I am aware of (providing its not a greenline up to 2010 - pre face lift).

I haven't driven the 1.4TDi MK2 version personally, though my younger sister had a 1.4Tdi in a Mk1 and she used to commute from Bristol to Cardiff in it, without any problem. It did 120K before she changed it too.

Thanks guys, seen a lovely dark green spec 3 one. The wife is saying no and thinks a polo is the way forward, she will learn.

Spec 3 is top of the range - best one in my opinion :)

The Fabia is cheaper in most circumstances than a Polo, plus Fabias are largest in their class in terms of space.

Does the polo have the same engine. I saw one yesterday and it sounded like a bag of bolts. Going to the local skoda dealers yo try and test drive one

I thought they shared the same engines, although I might be wrong. My colleagues 63 plate polo has the same 86ps engine as my fathers 62 reg Fabia.

Yes the polos and fabias do use the same engines.
