Caring for black VRS

Featured Replies

I recently bought a black VRS and I had forgotten how hard it is to keep a black car looking good. The car came with Diamond brite applied as part of the deal (shampoo & conserver included) and I want to get kitted out to look after it and would appreciate recommendations - wash mits, anything else, etc.

Poorboys blackhole glaze has to be some of the best kit, as with all the care in the world those scratches and swirls still appear! :wall:

Obviously best cleaning method you can afford time / money to do e.g. snowfoam or non-touch prewash and then 2 bucket method cleaning etc if possible. The guys in the cleaning/detailing section of the forum know a lot more on this.

I used Poorboys Natty's paste on top of the glaze but the glaze it what helps with the marks.

Oh - and try not to let the dealer wash it at service time etc.

Get over to styling and car care for loads of help on products and process!

 Only finding my way around. Looks like I'll get my answer there.

Hope that I didn't come across unwelcoming!  sorry, may I say, 'Welcome to the Octy 3 forum and Briskoda, I hope you'll find us friendly and helpful, and in return that you'll show others the same warmth and assistance.'   :sun:

however, the very best suggestions for car care are from the experts over on the other sub forum.  you'll get your snow foam, pressure washer, lance, 2 bucket method, grit gard, lambswool wash mitt, shampoo, fallout remover, tar remover, drying towel, drying aid, quick detailer, sealant, polish, DA polisher, glaze and wax sorted in no time, they know what you want to, and like to help others too    i hope you enjoy briskoda.

Spray it Candy White. Job done and it looks much better :)

Only kidding :)

Neiln, thanks for the welcome and for pointing me in the right direction. That's a comprehensive list if I ever saw one - the credit card will be hammered.

I just discovered the little routine that the head lights do when turned on.
