Recommended Optional Extras? Furby vRS

Featured Replies

argh, right an update, got phone today by the very helpful man from 'car select' whom im buying my car through due to the discount i get off my aunty.. anyway

Fabia vRS in black.. no extras (come on guys it not that hard one to source one) cant find one in the UK so its got to be made, got to wait 8-12 weeks

I really cant wait should i try 2nd hand one, the car i drive atm is truly awfull, 20mpg hits my wallet hard too.

But if i do have to wait, any extras i should request if its going to be made for me anyhoo?

OR should i just save my money for a mod on the car.. would love a remap but insurance permitting isn't an option.

cheers in advance.

cruise control definately... Thats the only one I have, so.. :)

There are a few for sale on here second hand, which are black :)

Cruise control can be retrofitted without too much difficulty

What options do you want? :D Any options you have fitted are unlikely to dramatically increase the resale price of the car (especially if traded in to a dealer), although they make it more desirable as a 2nd hand buy. Have you checked the forsale section on here? Mike was still trying to sell his imacculate 1 year old Fabia last time I checked..... :D

I say cruise control and xenons are a must. Heated seats are a nice.

I would say cruise deffo. It can be retrofitted but is more expensive than getting it as an option.

I have heated seats and xenons which are nice but not essential. Don't bother with a sunroof.

Be aware that 'Car Select' is owned by Lloyds TSB. If you mean the discount that from your aunt is the staff one, then the price is identical now. We used to get a special deal, but not anymore.

Anyone can now buy from Car Select, but watch for their delivery charges, I'm unsure of the new car charges, but used car's are done on distance from Birmingham.

As long as you hold a current account with Lloyds TSB, you can purchase a car from them.

I wont be doing much motorway driving to be honnest, and the journey back and forth to everywhere are along country lanes.. So i dont thinkg cruise control is a must for me.

Looking into it and im finding it hard to get finance on a private buy for some reason without needing my dad as a guarantor.

I think because ive got 8 or more week to wait ill just save up for a bigger deposit and a new Head Unit.

Is it really worth

Heated seats!! Love them, they take no time at all to warm up.

I have cruise control and used it only once when I went down to Alton Towers the other day. Xenons fitted aswell, but they need adjusting so aren't that good (actually theyre crap) at the moment. Look cool though!

Xenons are a must;the light spread and vision is fantastic. Sunroof gives the inside more light and some ventilation even when the air con is on. Autochanger is worth it too if you dont want to fumble around with cd's. As for Cruise, no experience of it. Dont do enough miles on motorways to justify

Unfortunately, non of them available from your Skoda dealer apart from maybe 17" Octy vRS alloys!!

Sorry not much help I know but believe me these "Third Party options" will transform your vRS

Are they much better than the standard fabia lights?

Is it worth

For the sake of

Typically I've heard that HID headlights (i.e., the xenons) are about 2.5x brighter than standard 'halogen' bulbs (what you get if you don't pick HID's). However, there are Xenon-filled bulbs which are standard filament bulbs with a different gas, which can be up to 50% brighter than standard halogens. I've got uprated ones in mine and the extra brightness is obvious.

The thing is that 55w is the legal lighting limit for headlight bulbs in the UK, but that is an expression of POWER not light. Most halogen bulbs are about 10% efficient, the rest of the energy is heat. Xenon-filled filament bulbs are a bit better, HID's are better still and LED's and flourescant tubes are way out at the front with something in the order of 90% efficiency for LED's - shame they can't make the latter produce useable levels of light or else they'd make superb headlights.

Sorry, bit of a ramble there but FYI.:)
