Engine cut out for the third time while driving "fuel pump relay intermittent"

Featured Replies

This has happened 3 times now, first time it started up again just as the AA arrived to rescue me, i drove it to a garage and this is the fault code that showed up when they checked it, the fault code was cleared and car ran fine for the next 3 weeks until it it happened again. This time it was right outside a garage and i got them to plug their computer in, same code again, he cleared it and it started up straight away.

Fine for the next 3 weeks and about 400 miles until yesterday, same issue. Started up after 2 hours and made it 20 yards up the road before it shut down on me again, AA came out and same fault code, but this time it wouldn't start up at all, got towed home and it's been sitting on the drive since.

Any ideas??

I have a brand new fuel pump relay and fuel pump so going to get them fitted tomorrow, looking at older threads some people have replaced both and have still had the same issues..

Well i think replacing the relay would be the first port of call

Kinda makes common sense. For the price of a relay i think i would of changed it first time around

Fuel pump relay replaced and it's alive

Got it up and running to drive to the garage and the relay was very very warm when it was taken out
