Is it easy too do tried getting it deleted via vagcom but they guy didn't know what he was doing as he couldn't even do my egr delete

The resister will be easier id have thought.

As far as I know, you can't do an egr delete with vagcom it needs to be remapped out, you can however turn the egr valve down so it's used less.

Ah thanks for clearing that will get it mapped out thanks

The easiest and easily reversible way is to take the dash panel out, remove the front cover, flip the graphic sheet up slightly and stick a bit of black tape on the underside of the airbag light graphic.

A non working airbag light is not a MOT fail, standard fit airbags that are missing is a MOT fail.

Not getting into the whole mot thing on a car forum....

To my knowledge if the airbag light doesn't light up and then clear, it's a fail.

- inoperative or

- indicating a system malfunction.

is a fail

That's what I thought as well.

No mention of a requirement for it to illuminate in the testers manual:

http://www.motinfo.gov.uk/htdocs/m4s05000401.htm

The only method of inspection for the light is:

2. Check that the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) does not indicate a fault in the system

If it doesn't illuminate at all, then it can't illuminate to indicate a fault with the system.

It not lighting up is a fault.

If your engine stops giving oil pressure and the light doesn't show up on your dash, is the oil pressure light working ok?

A photo I took of the VTS screen on what we can advise/fail for SRS systems.  The top one is the fail and the one below in brackets/italics is the advisory.

Edit to add, I agree that if it doesn't illuminate, it's fault, but it's not a MOT fail.

Ignorance is bliss eh :)

Hmmm, seems pretty conclusive. Ya live and learn. Does seem a bit strange though.
