05 fabia vrs Screamy windy noise when under acceleration any ideas what this could be?

Featured Replies

when i accelerate in 2nd 3rd 4th 5th n 6th around 2k to 3k revs I get an almost forced wind sound like whoosh noise mixed with a scream from the engine bay performance is still there pulls ok usually does it more whilst cornering too, has 73k on the clock and due to lack of service papers probably due cam belt n water pump along with some other belt changes any one herd of know what this could be. Seems to only happen under torch then goes away when upto n over 3k revs

Slipping alternator belt? Boost leak? (the pipes are known to leak when building up pressure but then seal ok when at full boost).

Personally if you've no history or patchy history at best I'd put it in for a full service, so all filters and fluids, along with a cam belt and water pump change. Also get them to give it a check over to see if anything comes up.

Won't be cheap but if you plan on keeping the car it's well worthwhile doing! - If your handy with tools you can do the basic service stuff yourself and save a bit of cash but I'd let the pros do the cam belt/water pump.

Thanks for the quick reply mate will get those checked, hope it's just a leaky pipe.
