Fabia mk2 newbie glovebox question

Featured Replies

Hey all

I have a mk2 1.2 htp basic bog standard fabia

As a "glovebox" it currently has just has an open space to store bits in and a pen holder!

Is there any way or has anyone retrofitted a proper glove box with door instead of the current useless opening?

Do the gloveboxes of the higher spec fabia models fit without having to chop anything about or interfere with the airbag?

Thanks in adv

Dont think so. Its a different dashboard iirc. Cant be retrofitted

As above. The door type glovebox is either fitted as standard on higher spec models or ordered from build. The whole dash needs replacement or so I believe, to retro-fit one and that could throw up a whole host of other issues!

Perhaps a good idea would be to look for a nicely fitting bag/pouch/box etc to sit in the opening (Surprised no-one has offered such an aftermarket item) And if its nice and its a reasonable price, buy a spare as you will NEVER find another one when your one starts to look worn out a few years down the line. How often have we done that? Had something we loved and wanted to replace after it wore out, only to discover its either irreplaceable or an extremely expensive collectors item?

I was gonna buy some little door type things for my Yaris MK1 to cover the open dash pockets as I thought it looked different to all the others but I didn't get round to it. Then found I cannot find them anywhere and how many times has something like a pair of sunglasses or something fell out onto the floor under acceleration due to being placed badly in an open hole?
