ISO extension cord?

Featured Replies

Does it exist?

Due to my re-wiring of the dash it would appear somethings amiss and my ISO connectors have a lot less wire available than usual. means I can't plug standard tape deck in the back.

Is there a natty 12"/18" extension that can be attached to the connectors to allow fitting? I've never heard of one before.

Sounds like the wiring loom for the stereo has been routed incorrectly.

Not as such, but one could easily be made from a pair of ISO's

The ends just clip in the plugs so if you go to halfrauds and get a pair that would be suitable .

IIRC (I used to work in ripofspeed as a student) :( the Vauxhall or renault late 90's ISO's are almost a straight through only the permanent and switched lives were round the wrong way, you could easily get one of those and just switch the individual pin connector around

I fear so too, but not sure where and how without removing the entire plastic front again.

It was OK before we plugged in the two plugs left out of the heating system.. Ever since then the ISO wiring has been too short. :D:o

Sounds like the loom is run the wrong side of the heater loom then and its holding it back.

Well, it only takes two minutes to unbolt the thing - maybe I'll have another go for a look. Only good thing is (if and) when I get my Pioneer back it has wiring to bolt to the connectors, and they won't have to reach the HU itself like in the standard tape deck. Means with less wiring back there I might stand a chance of getting the HU clicked fully back. :)

Gotta contact the HU repairer though - They've had my 8400-MP for about 4 weeks now. :(
