oil in water bottle

Featured Replies

Hi guys I recently fitted a headstud kit and reworked head car goes like stink but ever since I've got oil in my water bottle but none in the engine its self i've blocked oil cooler off and flushed system but its the same now im thinking cracked block can anyone suggest anything else before I rip it out??

Can't think of any other solution but to do what you have already in mind..sorry..

It will eliminate guess work and waste of time with a thorough investigation and rebuild process.

I know you've done a flush, but you really need to do quite a few coolant flushes with a proper coolant flush mixed with the antifreeze etc...

It takes ages to get all the oil out of the system once it's mixed in.

As for suggestions, I'd remove the radiator and clean it out several times with brake cleaner then a coolant flush and a hose pipe.

I'd remove all the coolant pipes and clean them with brake cleaner.

I'd remove the two matrix pipes and pour brake cleaner inside and leave it for half an hour then flush it out with a hose pipe.

Remove the coolant bottle and clean it or replace it for about £8.

Take out the thermostat and leave the bottom hose off, stick a hose pipe in the washer bottle and leave it running for a while.

I've washed the guts out of it a few times if I boot it then its worse if I drive sensible then it lasts a few days before filling with oil plus my engine oil has dropped half a stick in 3 days

Hmm. I'm out of suggestions then, I've never had to deal with a damaged block before so can't help much!

Is there a possibility the wrong head gasket has been fitted or something and the oils mixing past the ports?

Just seems strange, it wasn't mixing oil, changed head gasket and now it's mixing.

Or they've done something wrong skimming head etc?

Shud kits burst the bottom?

Shud kits burst the bottom?

The studs aren't put in at high torque though,it's the nuts that do the clamping.
