Doing my head in!

Featured Replies

I know this has been touched on before but has anyone managed to find a answer to the droning/humming/ mooing noise that I and many others have experienced? Mine happens at 68mph on any surface. I have new tyres and Hunter alignment which made no difference. The car is a 2012 VRS TSI estate with 20k on the clock. It seems to be coming from the front. Any advice would be appreciated.

Wing mirrors or window seals are two sources. Try folding the mirrors in and duct taping the window seals and take it for a quick spin to see if the noise goes away. Mines the same car with the same mileage and it doesn't do it so something is adrift.

Was it 4 new tyres? How long did you need to wait after the tyres were fitted before the alignment was done?

Tyres and alignment done together. The sound was there before.

Wheel bearing maybe?? Jack up one wheel at a time and spin them to see if there is any noise.
