Featured Replies

I had a claim in 2013 tree fell on my vehicle insurance offered 2000 but i bought the car back for 500 pounds, what am i legally obliged to put down on the forms. Meaning was the damage 2000 or 1500.

I've been advised that you should declare the full claim amount of £2k as the insurers would have earned something on the salvage whether you bought it back or not. So you haven't actually reduced the claim, they've just got their salvage income from a different source.

The difference in claim amount shouldn't make a difference to your next quote.

Hope that helps.

Glad to help. If you'd like a quote I'd be happy to set it up. Just PM your name and daytime phone number.

I may well hold you to that will be changing in early august.
